There are cutting horse facilities built to impress, and there are facilities built to produce winners. SMF Ranch has proven it can do both.

Set on approximately 90 acres in Hood County, Texas, SMF Ranch is a purpose-built, fully operational cutting horse facility whose legacy is measured not simply in acres, stalls or amenities, but in results. Over the last decade, horses developed from this facility have accounted for approximately 70 Fort Worth NCHA limited-age event wins, including Open Futurity Champions, Open Derby Champions and numerous other major titles. No facility anywhere in the cutting horse industry can point to a more consistent record of producing elite horses at the sport’s highest level in modern history.

At the heart of the ranch is one of the most distinctive indoor cutting arenas in the country. Fully climate controlled and designed around the needs of elite horses, trainers, owners and spectators, the arena incorporates dedicated viewing stations that create an intimate environment from which to watch horses work while maintaining the functionality demanded by a world-class training operation. Multiple live horse auctions have also been hosted inside this arena because it versatility and diverse design.

The supporting infrastructure is equally exceptional. 138 stalls provide capacity for a significant training and breeding program, while an on-site breeding facility adds another dimension to the operation. Equine athletes benefit from advanced conditioning and recovery amenities, including cryogenic therapy and an AquaTread, allowing horses to be managed, conditioned and rehabilitated without leaving the property.

SMF Ranch was designed not only around horses, but around the cattle necessary to develop them. The ranch offers feedlot capacity for approximately 1125 head (15 pens- 75 units each), a commodity shed and multiple stock tanks, creating the ability to support a substantial cattle program on site. An outdoor tilt-wall roping arena further expands the ranch’s versatility.

The land itself provides the foundation for the entire operation. Approximately 90 acres of desirable sandy-loam soil are partially shaded by mature live oaks and divided into separate cross-fenced pastures with premium top-rail pipe fencing and loafing sheds. Multiple stock tanks add both utility and character to the property.

A gated entrance and paved drive establish the ranch’s presence on arrival, leading into an operation that includes offices, training facilities, breeding infrastructure, cattle facilities and the extensive support improvements required to run a program of this caliber.

Yet the most valuable feature of SMF Ranch cannot be measured in square footage.
